The spray boom has been locally modified to have three nozzles in order to increase speed and efficiency of spraying.

Note the use of protective clothing.

Planting Seed and Fertiliser

One operator rocks the planter backwards and forwards while pushing it into the soil using the foot.

Seed is dropped down one tube and a metered amount of fertiliser down the other by a second operator.

After the planter is lifted out a foot is placed over the hole to ensure soil covers the seed.

A string is used to ensure equal spacing of seed rows.

Crop Emergence

The crop emerges in a weed free seed bed and grows steadily to maturity.

The surface mulch gives good rainfall infiltration without erosion.
